"The greatest and most welcome breath of fresh air in my career"
I wanted to let you know how much I have appreciated the support from Chambers over the last 5 years including the efficiency of yourselves in the admin team, you Carole especially for keeping me straight re payments and pension forms and latterly dealing direct with PCSE to update our contribution records.
Like many other members I'm sure, I joined Chambers somewhat jaded by my experience in partnership and had the benefit of an interview with Hester whom I already knew as a familiar face and local GP, a text from Julie after my first session worked as Hester was away. The weekly meetings during the pandemic were really helpful and supportive, I'm not quite sure how I would have managed as an independent locum without Chambers support especially in the pandemic. We also had the benefit of Hester keeping us updated on local guidance changes, the amusing posts as well as the ready access to advice from learned Chambers colleagues via the WhatsApp group.
Please could you forward my thanks to those mentioned above and also to Andy to whom we all owe so much for having the vision to start Chambers in the first place.
It has been a splendid experience working with the TMC for the last few years. It was recommended to me by a GP colleague, who introduced me to them, and I have never looked back. The TMC admin team is very efficient and always ready to help. They organise my sessions, prepare my monthly invoice and most importantly they do my pension forms for me, which only leaves me to submit them online and pay my contribution. We have a WhatsApp group for all clinicians, who work with the TMC, where we share clinical queries, seek advice and provide useful resources. The ImpaxHub is a very user-friendly website, which is easy to navigate through, insert your availability, review your sessions and also show interest in future bookings. I also enjoy our weekly zoom meetings, which have provided lots of support to me during the last year since the start of Covid 19. I would say joining the TMC has positively enhanced my work life balance as a locum, and I am very grateful to each one of them.
The Medical Chambers has provided me with the peer and admin support that I really needed as a freelance GP. Chambers has a vibrant and diverse membership which I really appreciate both personally and professionally. The peer support is excellent and far surpasses that which I had as a GP partner. Regular team meetings on a wide variety of topics enable me to keep up to date with clinical subjects, as well as IT and pathways information. The admin team behind the scenes are incredibly efficient, accommodating and accurate. If I have any problems with a booking, they will help sort it out quickly and with minimal fuss. It is helpful to be able to book my sessions at short notice, as well as longer-term and the ImpaxHub software enables this. I feel proud to be part of The Medical Chambers, knowing that I have excellent, accomplished colleagues, and I feel reassured that we are providing a very high standard of care to the patients of our member practices. When things don't go to plan, Chambers supports our GPs through significant events, and helps them liaise with practices effectively, minimising stress on both sides.
Chambers is so much more than a platform. It is my professional home as a GP, where I meet colleagues for peer support, postgraduate education and a catchup. My wife remarks on my positive mindset when I return from chambers meetings. On the rare occasions when ongoing support is needed with practices, the Chambers staff are very supportive.
With working two roles, I now will be working 9 sessions a week so therefore will be unable to offer any availability for locum shifts alongside this.
I want to express my sincere gratitude for all your support over the past 2 years. Moving to a completely new area for work was daunting but you eased my transition and I am so grateful for everything. Not only have you been invaluable for all the professional support but also the kind gestures such as sending cards when I was unwell earlier this year meant a lot. Working with Chambers has been only a positive experience so thank you again.
Joining TMC has given me a new lease of life in my work...I’m doing a job I love again while being supported by a fantastic group of likeminded people. The pain has been taken out of the administrative side of locum work, the WhatsApp group helps keep me up to date as well as having some fun and quick answers to day-to-day questions, and the meetings are very much tailored to our needs. Last but not least I’m starting to get the work/ home life balance somewhere near to my goal. Thanks TMC
I have been working with The Medical Chambers since 2012 and I enjoy working with chambers. It is hassle free with admin looking after my bookings, invoicing and pension forms. Our regular clinical meetings and group-chat helps me to connect with other members. This takes away the loneliness of the locum work. Thanks to the chambers for their support during pandemic.
Joining The Medical Chambers has been the greatest and most welcome breath of fresh air in my career to date. Having left a stagnant partnership behind, the welcome and instant camaraderie from Chambers provided everything, from the outset, that the latter years of my partnership had not. The support for locum GPs within Chambers is nothing short of incredible. We are blessed with partners owning a huge breadth of knowledge and experience, and support staff for whom nothing is too much trouble or effort.
Then, of course, we have our members. Meeting and getting to know new colleagues from such a varied set of backgrounds is just wonderful. We enjoy a varied skill set, and everyone brings different perspectives to our dynamic bi-monthly clinical meetings. I am so blessed to have found so many new friends, and I feel part of something really special. I don’t think it is too overdramatic to say that joining Chambers has saved my GP life!
I have only recently joined The Medical chambers but in the last 6 months I have been impressed by how much I feel like part of a team rather than an individual locum on my own. Working for the chambers allows me to have the work life balance that I need but with all the support that working in a regular team normally provides.
The Chambers have been great for my needs since retiring as a full-time partner, in so many ways. I have found clinical and appraisal discussions with Colleagues invaluable at the monthly meetings, the organisation back up is superb including very friendly available staff, IT that really works from booking sessions to making accounting at the end of the year very straightforward and finding plenty of interesting and varied work
